Making Irish students’ Oxbridge goals a reality.

Combatting the Statistics.

In the 2020 admissions cycle, only 107 students from the Republic of Ireland applied to Cambridge for an undergraduate degree. Of the 107, only 6 were successful. In comparison, 140 students applied from Northern Ireland in the same year, and 28 were successful. This equates to a success rate 14.4% higher than in the Republic.

Irish2Oxbridge seeks to close the gap by helping students to craft a competitive application to Oxbridge.

Our Story

Irish2Oxbridge came about through an unwillingness to acquiesce to the status quo.

Paddy, our founder, recognised that while Ireland is full of talented students, many are deterred from applying to elite institutions like Oxford and Cambridge.

The first major barrier Paddy identified was the lack of accessible resources. Determined to address this, he reached out to Conor, and together they began connecting with their network of Irish students at Oxford and Cambridge. They invited these students to share their stories, insights, and advice on the application process. From this collaboration, Irish2Oxbridge was born in its earliest form: an information bank designed to guide and inspire prospective applicants.

As the initiative grew, a new challenge became apparent — a lack of confidence and personalised guidance for students navigating the admissions process. Under Conor’s leadership, the organisation evolved to meet this need. Paddy and Conor spearheaded the transition to the next phase: offering tailored tutelage and hands-on support. A full committee was elected, the website was revamped, and tutors were recruited to provide one-on-one mentoring. With funding secured and strategic marketing efforts underway, Irish2Oxbridge expanded its reach and impact.

Irish2Oxbridge now provides personalised tutelage and hands on support for Irish students hoping to read a variety of subjects.
